Job Summary:
National Oilwell Varco (NOV) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our Wellsite Services team. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our wellsite equipment and services. Your responsibilities will include implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for wellsite equipment and services.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare and submit quality reports to management and customers as required.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality metrics.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and operations, to drive quality improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Communicate quality standards and requirements to team members and suppliers.
- Participate in project meetings and provide quality-related input and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction while maintaining or enhancing product quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into quality processes.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in the oil and gas industry or related field.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and tools (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
